João Victor Saraiva, better known as Madjer, was born in Luanda, the capital of Angola, in 1977. When he was a child, he left his country to start a new life in Portugal. In that time nobody knew it, but the world was attending the birth of a new sport legend.
Nowadays, Madjer is a Portuguese beach soccer player. He plays in forward position and has an extraordinary agility and dribbling talent in contrast to his height.
Besides, he is very capable in acrobatic finishes such as volleys, over-head kicks and bicycle kicks. The Portuguese striker flies like Vitoria, famous Benfica’s falcon. Sorry mate, we know you are a Porto super fan.
Madjer has often been hailed as the best-ever beach soccer player. This man is more famous than ‘Bolinho de bacalhau’, the main receipt in Portuguese cuisine. In 2016, our guest became the first player to score 1000 international beach soccer goals.
Rabah Madjer, a former Algerian player and legend from FC Porto, was his idol and that’s the reason why people started calling him Madjer. He won the FIFA Beach Soccer Word Cup and the Euro Beach Soccer League.
Madjer skills provide a vital contribution for his team while competing in EBSL, Mundialito, and above all the Beach Soccer World Championship. At the 2005, 2006, and 2008 World Cups the striker won the golden boot for most goals scored in the tournament, and he also was the MVP of EBSL last season in 1999, 2006, 2008 and 2009.
